Our Story
Once one of Belfast’s most prestigious addresses, the elegant Georgian terraces of Upper Crescent date back to the early nineteenth century. Built by timber merchant Robert Corry in 1846, the development is believed to have been influenced by the celebrated Belfast architect Sir Charles Lanyon. It was regarded as the grandest terrace development in South Belfast and remains one of the city’s finest examples of Georgian architecture.
After decades of decline, these remarkable buildings fell into significant disrepair. Their revival began with an ambitious restoration project led by the Kieran family. Years of meticulous conservation transformed the terraces into one of Belfast’s most distinctive luxury boutique hotels. Historic character was preserved while introducing the comforts and expectations of modern hospitality.
In 2026, Regency House entered its next chapter under the stewardship of Chris McClurg and Alice Stewart. Together, they brought decades of experience from some of the UK’s most celebrated hospitality businesses. Their vision is simple: to create a truly owner-led boutique hotel where exceptional food, genuine hospitality and meaningful human connection define every guest experience.
